The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Tatiana Molcean who is on visit to Azerbaijan within the framework of the UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) week, the Ministry told APA.
During the meeting, the cooperation agenda and perspectives of cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNECE, as well as Azerbaijan’s relations with Central Asia, including SPECA, and the possible role of UNECE in this context were discussed.
The Executive Secretary Tatiana Molcean noted that Azerbaijan’s efforts to transform SPECA – during its time chairmanship – into a platform in line with the challenges of the modern era are admirable. Hope was expressed that the SPECA Summit which is going to be held in Baku the next day, will play an important role in strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Programme against the background of regional and international challenges.
