Kyrgyzstan proposes to create an institution for the development of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Gulnara-Klara Samat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation, stated this at a hearing on the priority tasks of Russia’s chairmanship of the Union in the State Duma, Russian media report.
According to the diplomat, this would help speed up the integration processes between the member countries of the Union. She added that the institute would also contribute to economic growth and convergence of the level of development of the EAEU member states.
Gulnara-Klara Samat called it a «supranational development fund», which can work by analogy with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the European Union, the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR).
