On June 22, 2021 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Muhriddin received the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Assistant Administrator of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and UNDP Regional Director for Europe and the CIS Ms. Mirana Spolarich Egger.
During the meeting the sides discussed issues and prospects for further development of cooperation between Tajikistan and UNDP, and praised the constructive cooperation in many areas of development, including sustainable economic development and environmental sustainability.
The Foreign Minister also drew attention to the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of water and climate, including the importance of discussing the consequences of climate change and protection of glaciers, strengthening cooperation in the framework of the Dushanbe Water Process.
In turn, Ms. Egger expressed interest in expanding cooperation and holding joint events on issues of mutual interest.
