Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev made a speech at the XXII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Press service of the ministry reported.
He noted that the forum provides an excellent opportunity for Kyrgyzstan to present itself in the international arena and expand mutually beneficial cooperation with partners. The official added that the established economic ties between the countries, the measures taken to develop mutual trust and the mechanisms within the EAEU to date make it possible to establish partnership in such areas as agriculture, light industry, and power industry.
«The dynamically developing trade and economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia also contributed to the acceleration of economic growth in our country. At the end of 2021-2022, economic growth amounted to 6.2 and 7 percent, respectively. In the medium term, we will continue to maintain such high growth rates, including through mutually beneficial cooperation with Russian companies,» Daniyar Amangeldiev said.
The official also told about the reform of tax legislation, stressing that it has been adapted to the needs of business and investors.
He also told about the existing legislative framework in the country for the protection of investments, benefits and preferences provided, and favorable energy tariffs. The minister noted the construction of small and medium-sized hydropower plants as an important direction in the implementation of the green agenda.
«We have a portfolio of ready-made investment-attractive energy projects, and we count on the interest of Russian and foreign partners. We are ready for cooperation, including on the terms of public-private partnership, using the latest technologies and experience,» Daniyar Amangeldiev said.
Russian and foreign investors were invited to participate in national mega projects in the power industry and the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway. In addition, it is proposed to invest in the construction of 4- and 5-star hotels, ski resorts and resorts, tourist service centers in the regions, as well as ethnic complexes and glamping hotels.
