June 28-30, 2021 in New York, at the initiative of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the Second United Nations High-Level Conference on Combating Terrorism entitled "Countering and Preventing Terrorism on the Basis of Transforming Technologies: Overcoming the Threats of the New Decade" The meeting was attended by heads of anti-terrorist agencies and foreign ministers of UN member states. The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirodjidin Muhriddin took part and spoke at the forum.
In his speech, the Foreign Minister briefed the participants on the efforts of the Republic of Tajikistan to prevent and combat security threats and the results of the High-Level Conference on "International and regional cooperation in combating terrorism and its sources of funding, including drug trafficking and crime." (16-17 May 2019, Dushanbe) and stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office in the framework of the "Dushanbe Process" on combating terrorism and its financing.
It should be recalled that the Dushanbe Security Conference in 2019 was held in pursuit of the goals of the first High-Level Conference of UN Counter-Terrorism Leaders on "Strengthening international cooperation to combat the growing threat of terrorism" (June 28-29, 2018, New York).
