During the reporting period, bilateral and multilateral cooperation of the Republic of Tajikistan with partner countries and international and regional organizations has been steadily expanding.

On June 10-11, 2021, the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Tajikistan was held.

The visit resulted in the signing of a Joint Statement of the Heads of State of the two countries and a total of 35 new cooperation documents, most of which cover cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy and trade, investment and industry, transport and agriculture.

Also during this period, the 8th meeting of the Tajik-Uzbek Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation chaired by the Prime Ministers of the two countries (May 14-15, 2021, Tashkent) was held.

In the field of bilateral relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan, it should be noted that the first official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Qosim-Jomart Tokayev to the Republic of Tajikistan was held on May 19-20, 2021, as a result of which 7 new cooperation documents were signed.

The 16th session of the Tajik-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held on March 18, 2021 in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On March 30, 2021 in the margins of the 9th Ministerial Conference “Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process” the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtor Tleuberdi, who was on a working visit to Tajikistan. On June 28-29, 2021 the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov paid an official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan. During the reporting period , the necessary steps have been taken in the field of bilateral relations with Turkmenistan to implement the agreements reached between the top leadership of the two countries in 2019 in Ashgabat.

In this regard, in May 2021, a Roadmap for the promotion of inter-sectoral and inter-agency cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan was adopted, which includes a number of joint practical activities.

On April 28 and June 29, 2021 the President of the Republic of Tajikistan had telephone conversations with the President of Turkmenistan. The two leaders exchanged views on the state and prospects of Tajik-Turkmen relations and expressed interest in enriching their content with new practical initiatives. Relations between Tajikistan and Belarus are based on mutually beneficial political, economic, military-technical and cultural-humanitarian cooperation and traditionally develop in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding.

The 14th session of the Tajik-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held on April 5-7, 2021. The meeting discussed the results of bilateral trade and economic cooperation in 2019-2020 and measures to increase bilateral trade, as well as issues of bilateral cooperation in industry, agriculture, transport, health, education, investment and information.

On May 18, 2021 in Dushanbe in the margins of the meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. On April 7, 2021 a working visit of the Hungarian delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto took place in Tajikistan. During the reporting period, the following work has been done to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the framework of international and regional organizations. The Second United Nations High-Level Conference on Combating Terrorism, entitled "Countering and Preventing Terrorism on the Basis of Transforming Technologies: Overcoming the Threats of the New Decade," was held in New York on June 28-30, 2021 at the initiative of the UN Secretary-General. The meeting was attended by heads of anti-terrorist agencies and foreign ministers of UN member states. Cooperation between Tajikistan in the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has been strengthened and expanded at this stage. The next meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held on April 2 in Moscow. At the event, the ministers discussed issues of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation within the CIS, and exchanged views on topical issues of regional and international newspapers.

In the field of cooperation with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), it should be noted that a meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers chaired by Tajikistan was held in Dushanbe on May 18-19, 2021.

Prior to the meeting, the Foreign Ministers were received by the Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The sides discussed the current state and prospects of the international and regional situation and its impact on the security of the CSTO member states, with particular attention to the Action Plan for implementation of decisions of the CSTO meeting and implementation of priorities proposed by Tajikistan. .

This year, Tajikistan is chairing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which coincides with the 20th anniversary of the organization. To date, 56 multi-level meetings of the SCO have been held under the auspices of the SCO under the chairmanship of Tajikistan.

On July 13-14, 2021, a meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Dushanbe. This meeting is a key event in the preparation of the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State. Following the meeting, 29 decisions were made.

At the initiative of the Tajik side, a meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the SCO member states and Afghanistan was held on July 14, 2021 in Dushanbe with the participation of all SCO member states and Afghanistan in the form of the SCO-Afghanistan Contact Group. It should be noted that as of July 1, 2021, the number of countries that have established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Tajikistan has reached 179. Diplomatic relations with Trinidad and Tobago were re-established during the reporting period.

During this period, 6 new ambassadors of foreign countries, including the ambassadors of Afghanistan, Palestine, France, Italy, Hungary and Croatia presented their credentials to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

This year, Tajikistan is chairing two major regional organizations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the capital will host a jubilee meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State on the occasion of its 20th anniversary. was.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is making comprehensive preparations for the worthy completion of the presidency in these two organizations and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Independence Day of our beloved country.
