On November 25, 2021 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Muhriddin had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
The foreign leaders discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia and exchanged views on some issues of cooperation between the two countries in the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, focusing on the implementation of decisions of the Dushanbe meeting of the CSTO.
The interlocutors discussed in detail the incident that took place on November 12, 2021 in the village of Zalary, Zalarinsky district, Irkutsk region of the Russian Federation, during which citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan were killed. Mukhriddin drew Lavrov’s attention to the need for a thorough investigation into the incident and the punishment of the perpetrators. The ministers agreed to bring the case under the special control of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Russia.
The conversation was held in a creative spirit.
