"Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is a USD 20 billion investment," President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during his speech at the official ceremony on the delivery of nuclear fuel to the first reactor of Akkuyu NPP, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports.
He noted that the full operation of Akkuyu will allow Türkiye to reduce natural gas imports to USD 1.5 bln per year. According to Erdogan, this is the biggest project between the two countries.
Turkish leader emphasized that the construction of the second and third NPPs will be started as soon as possible.
