Ukraine’s accession to NATO is a threat to the security of the Russian Federation, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 channel, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
According to him, one of the reasons for the special military operation is the threat of Ukraine joining the alliance.
“Ukraine’s membership in NATO will pose a threat to Russia’s security. NATO membership will not increase Ukraine’s security,” the Russian President stressed.
Putin noted that Russia is not against the discussion of security guarantees for Ukraine:
“Subject to compliance with Russian security guarantees…”
