Uzbekistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister visits Milli Majlis

Chairman of the Disciplinary Commission of the Milli Majlis, head of the working group on inter-parliamentary relations with Uzbekistan Eldar Ibrahimov has met with the Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Bobur Usmanov. Eldar Ibrahimov noted that Azerbaijan attached great importance to the comprehensive development of relations with Uzbekistan. Speaking about the historical and spiritual ties between the two countries, the chairman of the commission spoke about the high-level relations of the heads of state give an impetus to dynamic development of cooperation in the modern era. On the unique role of legislative bodies in deepening bilateral relations, Eldar Ibrahimov said that the signing of the agreement on cooperation and the roadmap between the legislative bodies of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan during the visit of the Chairman of the Milli Majlis to Uzbekistan last year created new opportunities for strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation. Speaking about Uzbekistan`s participation in the restoration works in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Eldar Ibrahimov hailed construction of a large school in Fuzuli district as a gift from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on behalf of the Uzbek people and as the next step of brotherhood between the two countries. Thanking for a warm reception, Babur Usmanov emphasized Uzbekistan’s intention to further develop relations with friendly Azerbaijan and talked about studying new opportunities in this direction. Members of the working group of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan inter-parliamentary relations of the Milli Majlis Javanshir Pashazade, Elman Nasirov and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov expressed their views on the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
