‘Our primary demand from constituencies is serious investigation of applications without any delay,’ said Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), at a meeting held on September 5.
He highlighted that election-related appeals to the Milli Majlis must be legally supported. ‘Applications should be submitted to the CEC by the end of business hours each day.’
Panahov noted that appeals would be reviewed in accordance with the law, the Electoral Code, and CEC instructions. ‘Only postmarked submissions will be considered.’
“District Election Commissions (DEC) will examine the applications within three days and forward them to us. Whether the complainant is satisfied with the outcome is another matter. Investigations should be transparent. Anyone can participate in the examination process at both the DEC and the CEC,” he added.
