White House monitoring situation in Russia

United States President Joe Biden has been briefed on the latest news from Russia regarding Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, National Security Council spokesperson Adam Hodge said, APA reports citing Teletrader.

“We are monitoring the situation and will be consulting with allies and partners on these developments,” he added.

An unnamed US official told CNN that Prigozhin’s latest comments are “something more than his usual rhetoric,” as his remarks usually follow significant changes in the war in Ukraine. However, other officials said the White House is not likely to issue any statements on the matter “until they have a clearer sense of what is happening.”
