Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Mr. Takehiko Nakao extended profound sympathies and condolences to the Indonesian people following the loss of lives and devastation caused by the recent earthquake and tsunami in central Sulawesi.
Our thoughts are with the families who lost loved ones in the earthquake and tsunami, said Mr. Nakao, who also sent a condolence letter to President Joko Widodo. ADB stands with the people and the Government of Indonesia at this difficult time. ADB is ready to assist the government in their recovery and reconstruction efforts, including offering immediate support to restore life-saving services to affected populations. We are also committed to helping the government build greater resilience to natural disasters.
