Canada over the weekend welcomed U.S.-hosted peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia during which Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that 'tangible progress' has been made.
"Canada welcomes the diplomatic engagement between Armenia and Azerbaijan during four days of negotiations in Washington, D.C," Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said in a tweet.
She thanked Blinken for "continued efforts to support the peaceful dialogue."
The four-day negotiating session last week did not produce a peace agreement, however the top U.S. diplomat said he believed a deal could be 'within reach' and praised both sides for trying to find common ground.
