Chairman of the Tajik State Committee for National Security Says Real Peace Will Come on the Borders with Kyrgyzstan

On September 19, following the meeting and signing of a protocol with the Kyrgyz side, the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan, Colonel-General Saimumin Yatimov expressed his confidence that real peace will come on the state borders of both countries.

“We found a common ground, a common understanding. We signed the protocol,” he stated.

The Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan emphasized that, we will organize our activities in all areas, on political, economic, social and other issues, in the spirit of the interests of our two fraternal peoples.

Yesterday, Yatimov and his Kyrgyz counterpart Kamchybek Tashiev held a meeting at the Guliston border checkpoint.

The meeting focused on ensuring stability in the Tajik-Kyrgyz border areas. The parties stressed the necessity of an unconditional observance of the ceasefire regime.

They noted that special attention should be paid to the issue of ensuring the safety of local residents and solving issues through peaceful means.

Following the meeting, the parties also signed a protocol, according to which additional forces and military equipment will be returned to their permanent location.
