DUSHANBE,  In accordance with the government’s meeting protocol and in order to prevent the COVID-19 spread, weddings will be held within the family with the participation of a small number of people, reports the Committee for Religion, Regulation of Traditions, Celebrations and Ceremonies.

According to the new procedure, which will take effect from July 27, the maximum number of participants in a wedding should not exceed 30-40 people.

“This procedure will remain in force until the situation in the country stabilizes due to the COVID-19 spread,” said the spokesman for the Committee for Religious Affairs Afshin Mukim.

Earlier in June, the Republican COVID-19 Prevention Commission had decided to temporary permit the organization of weddings for up to 100 people from June 20 and only one event at the place of residence or elsewhere, including restaurants and other venues with obligatory observance of sanitary and hygienic rules.
