Dushanbe has become a popular international destination for passengers at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg. This was noted by the press service of the management company Air Gates of the Northern Capital LLC, reports Sputnik news agency.

Generally, for the first four months of 2022, the airport’s passenger traffic increased by 9% compared to the same period last year, reaching almost 4.5 million people. Also, on domestic flights, air harbor employees served 3.8 million passengers. These figures are in line with the figures for 2021.

On international lines, an increase of 2.5 times was noted. For the four months, 672,000 passengers used these destinations at Pulkovo. The most popular cities within Russia are Moscow, Sochi, Kaliningrad, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Arkhangelsk, Kazan, Murmansk, Ufa, and Mineralnye Vody.

In addition to Dushanbe, Istanbul (Turkey), Dubai (UAE), Minsk (Belarus), Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt), Tashkent, and Urgench (Uzbekistan), Osh (Kyrgyzstan), and Helsinki ( Finland) were the most popular among international destinations.

Pulkovo occupies fourth place in terms of passenger traffic in Russia, behind the air harbors of Moscow.

Since 2010, its main operator has been the international consortium Air Gates of the Northern Capital, which, on the basis of public-private partnership, manages the airport and the project for its reconstruction and development.

Earlier, Dushanbe was included in the list of inexpensive routes for Russians during the May holidays. The approximate amount that you need to pay for a ticket to the capital is estimated at 10,000 rubles.
