The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President Emomali Rahmon arrived in Lakhsh in order to become familiar with its socio-economic development and take part in the opening of the facilities built to commemorate the 30th anniversary of independence.

His trip began with the opening of the building of the district’s agricultural department and a building of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Lakhsh Central Hospital.

While visiting the Exhibition of National Cuisine and Handicrafts, President Rahmon held a meeting with public representatives.

He noted that the government is continuing to ensure sustainable socio-economic development of Lakhsh and has so far channeled more than 1.2 billion somoni to the area.

He noted that 21 public investment projects worth more than 700 million somoni have been implemented in the district, with three more underway.

President Rahmon stressed that the Program of Socio-Economic Development of Lakhsh for 2021-2025 provides for the implementation of 174 projects totaling 221 million somoni to further improve the infrastructure of the district.

Since gaining independence, 13 public investment projects worth 2.5 billion somoni have been implemented in the Rasht Valley, within the framework of which more than 614 kilometers of roads and 25 bridges have been built.

Currently, four public investment projects for road construction worth 960 million somoni are being implemented in Lakhsh, within the framework of which more than 255 kilometers of roads and 15 bridges have already been built.

Currently, three more investment projects worth about 5 billion somoni are being implemented in Rasht Valley, including Lakhsh, within the framework of which more than 100 km of roads of international and national importance, 3 tunnels and 20 bridges will be built. Lakhsh, like other districts in the region, is becoming an international transit route.

Since independence, 23 new buildings of educational institutions have been built and put into operation. Currently, the construction of two educational buildings and additional classrooms for 720 students is underway.
