Fourth Round of Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan Begins in Dushanbe

Today, the 4th round of the Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan — a meeting of national security advisers and secretaries of security councils began in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of Tajikistan.

The meeting is attended by Secretary of the Security Council of Tajikistan Nasrullo Mahmudzoda, National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of India Ajitu Doval, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani, Assistant to the President — Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan Aset Issekeshev, Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Cheng Guoping , Chairman of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan Marat Imankulov, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev, and Secretary of the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov.

The meeting is expected to focus on the situation in Afghanistan, as well as on threats and dangers for the countries of the region emanating from the territory of Afghanistan.

Yesterday, Nasrullo Mahmudzoda held a working meeting with his Russian colleague Nikolai Patrushev.

The parties exchanged views on topical security issues. They also noted the dynamics of the development of Russian-Tajik relations and confirmed their interest in deepening allied relations.
