On May 20, 2021 the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Tehran in cooperation with the Cultural Institution of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) held an international virtual forum "Singer of Peace and Friendship" on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Hero of the Republic of Tajikistan Mirzo Tursunzade.

At this forum, the Chairman of the ECO Cultural Institution Sarvar Bakhti called the Hero of Tajikistan Mirzo Tursunzade one of the prominent figures of the ECO region and beyond, calling him “a champion of peace and friendship, an enlightened writer, a torchbearer of freedom and independence, recognized by the international community. In the great regional and international clubs, the master brought the pain and sorrow of all the suffering people to the attention of the world. This famous Tajik poet belonged to the whole world and his message was not limited to his own country and had a global value. "

In his speech, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Iran Nizomiddin Zohidi, referring to the great role of Ustad Mirzo Tursunzade in the development of literature, culture and science of Tajikistan, stressed that "Ustad Tursunzade's poetry covers all traditional forms of poetry and new forms of modern Tajik poetry. Traditional principles and appeals to modern themes, with a victorious spirit of humanity and praise of universal values, have made a significant contribution to the development of modern Tajik literature and its presentation on the international stage, strengthening the national aspects of modern Tajik poetry and expanding its scope. In other words, Ustad Tursunzade's poetry is the best expression of the achievements of Tajik poetry of the Soviet era.

The Ambassador of Tajikistan added: "As a wise envoy of Tajikistan and the Soviet Union, Ustad Mirzo Tursunzade traveled to many countries of the world, especially to Asia and Africa, where he gained spiritual contact with the people of those countries, admired their literary, artistic and cultural wonders. He felt their suffering with all his heart, rejoiced in their freedom and independence, and in his lofty poetry was in harmony with the different peoples of Asia and Africa.

The Ambassador of Tajikistan noted that Ustad Tursunzade was one of the first after the independence of the Republic of Tajikistan to be awarded the title of Hero of Tajikistan by the decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon for his great contribution to the development of literature and culture of Tajikistan.

Ghulamali Haddodi Odil, Chairman of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature and Chairman of the Saadi Foundation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, thanked Mirzo Tursunzade and said: “Ustod Tursunzoda and some great Tajik writers such as Sadriddin Aini, Bobojon Ghafurov, Abulqasim Loh Among those who, in the pre-independence period of Tajikistan, kept the torch of ancestral language and literature as the main pillar of the Tajik people's identity in that land and protected this capital for the Tajik nation. In his speech, Dr. Abhay Kumar Singh, Professor of Rohingya University of India, called Ustad Tursunzade a true friend of the people of India and stressed the unique role of Ustad's poetry in revealing the social pain of this ancient land. The Indian scholar spoke at the conference about the sincere respect of the people of India for the name and personality of Mirzo Tursunzade, and called Tursunzade's work in honor of India a part of the transnational literary heritage with which the people of India are proud.

Professor of Samarkand University Asliddin Qamarzoda in his speech referred to the friendship of the Tajik and Uzbek peoples, recalled the works of Mirzo Tursunzade translated into Uzbek and the cooperation and friendship of this Tajik national poet with Uzbek writers, noting that on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev The metro station and square in Tashkent are named after Ustad Tursunzade.

People's poet of Tajikistan Kamol Nasrullo in his speech described the innovations of Mirzo Tursunzade's works in terms of content, style, poetic language and artistic values of the master's poetry as a unique phenomenon in Tajik poetry and Mirzo Tursunzade's work as a solid basis for the formation and development of Tajik poetry. assessed the Soviet era.

Sodiq Ussan, Professor of Balkh University of Afghanistan, Ms. Faleha Kozimi, Head of the Persian Language and Literature Department of Lahore Women's University of Pakistan, Ibrahim Khudoyor, Professor of the University of Education of Iran, Jafar Ehsani, Professor of Shahid Rabbani University of Afghanistan, Fariduni Farhod, The Uzbek publication "Ovozi Samarkand" spoke about the literary and social status of Mirzo Tursunzade in the region, the friendship of this leader of modern Tajik literature with world-famous writers, the place of his poetry in promoting the ideas of peace and friendship in the region and the world.

Also between the speeches were moments of poetry of Mirzo Tursunzade, memories of friends and students about the master and songs based on the poems of this living poet.

Emphasizing the immortality of the name and legacy of Ustad Mirzo Tursunzade and his high place in the literature of the region and the world, this virtual forum has become a club for the presentation and promotion of literary and cultural achievements of modern Tajikistan.
