Judoka Temur Rahimov Wins Bronze at the Antalya Grand Slam 2022

Tajik judoka Temur Rahimov won a bronze medal at the Antalya Grand Slam 2022.

The tournament was held on April 1-3 in Antalya (Turkey) with the participation of 525 athletes (312 men, 213 women) from 63 countries.

Rahimov in the +100 kg weight category started the competition in the second round, defeating Grigory Prior from the US and Magamedumar Magamedumarov from the United Arab Emirates, but lost to Richard Sipoz from Hungary in the quarterfinals. He defeated Azerbaijani Ushangi Kokauri in a repechage fight and Frenchman Joseph Terhek in the fight for third place.

Another judoka Komronshoh Ustopiriyon took seventh place in the weight category up to 90 kg. He was free in the first round. He also defeated the representative of Azerbaijan (Rufat Ismoilov) and the Czech Republic (David Klammert) in two rounds, losing in the quarterfinals to Luka Maisuradze of Georgia and in the repechage fight to Louis Krieber Gagnon of Canada.

Other athletes lost to rivals in preliminary fights.
