Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Almaz Imangaziev received the Ambassador of Iceland Árni Thór Sigurdsson.

The Kyrgyz diplomat congratulated on the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Iceland in Bishkek and expressed confidence that this would intensify cooperation.

Almaz Imangaziev briefly informed about the development of hydropower in Kyrgyzstan. In view of the agreements signed with France, Switzerland and Italy on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports, he proposed to consider the possibility of signing a similar document with Iceland.

In turn, Ambassador Árni Thór Sigurdsson said that the visa regime with Kyrgyzstan was being discussed by Iceland. He proposed to study the issue of concluding air transport agreements and avoiding double taxation.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to study the issue of opening an Honorary Consulate of Kyrgyzstan in Iceland.
