On April 20, 2022 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sharaf Sheralizoda met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Honda Taro in Tokyo.
During the meeting the sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations and ways to develop political, trade, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation.
Sheralizoda briefed his counterpart on the preparations for the Second International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028", which will be held June 6-9, 2022 in Dushanbe.
The parties also stressed the need for regional cooperation in the framework of the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue and the strengthening of cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
