On September 27, 2021 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Muhriddin within the framework of his working visit to New York to take part in the General Debates of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly met with its newly elected President Abdullah Shahid.
During the meeting the sides discussed a range of issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and the UN in the framework of its General Assembly in various fields, including security, economic, social, humanitarian, sanitary and climatic, and stressed the need to strengthen multilateral cooperation.
The parties also discussed the recent developments in Afghanistan, the fight against terrorism and extremism, the importance of an effective response to the economic and social consequences of COVID-19 integration, climate change and its impact on the environment.
