At the Palace of Nations, the Peace and National Unity - the Leading President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the First Deputy Chairman of the Government, Finance Minister of the Russian Federation, Co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic issues Anton Siluanov.
President Emomali Rahmon at the beginning of the meeting stressed that we attach special importance to the strengthening of the priorities of friendship and cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia.
The role of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Issues is the implementation of the goals of the two sides, including previous signed agreements and development of trade-economic relations and "Sustainable Economic Cooperation Program for 2021" for the strengthening and expansion of the bilateral relations between the two countries, growth of volume of goods, important was evaluated.
It was stressed that currently the structure of the transaction of our country's products is "raw material reserves" and we should seek to diversify it. In this connection it was proposed that the mechanism of simplification of the accessibility of goods from Tajikistan to the Russian market should be developed. Active cooperation in the field of investment is required to establish joint ventures.
Russia remains a leading economic partner of Tajikistan. The volume of commodity turnover between the two countries over the past year has exceeded $ 1 billion and Russian capital has grown from $ 6.6 billion to the economy of Tajikistan.
The sides expressed their readiness for active cooperation in extraction and processing of minerals, including light industry, food, energy and agricultural complexes, development of cooperation in financial and credit sectors, transport, logistics, information technology, communications and tourism.
Strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, education and labor migration has been discussed at other forums that have been deeply reviewed.
