On April 26, in the framework of the working visit of the People's Republic of China and in the sidelines of the Second Forum of International Cooperation "One Belt, One Road" the foundation of peace and national unity - Presidential Special Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Hon they met.
During the meeting the present and future cooperation between the countries was discussed.
President Emomali Rahmon expressed his satisfaction with the current level of political relations between Tajikistan and Pakistan based on the principles of mutual understanding and trust.
The sides expressed their interest in facilitating the implementation of the important documents between Tajikistan and Pakistan, which regulate the relations of the countries in the fields of economic and trade, promotion and mutual protection of investments, information, culture, education, health, tourism, air and air security.
For the development of economic and trade cooperation, it was also important to continue the fruitful work, expansion of the Joint Commission of Tajikistan and Pakistan on trade and economic cooperation, holding meetings of joint Tajik-Pakistani Business Council, the joint working group on oil and gas, energy and infrastructure.
The implementation of the historical project "CASA-1000" is an outstanding example of bilateral relations.
During the meeting the sides discussed the issues of cooperation in the security sector, strengthening of regional peace and stability, counteracting global threats - terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, transnational organized crime, and strengthening the Tajik state border with Afghanistan.
Both sides expressed their support for strengthening multilateral cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations, including the United Nations, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Islamic Cooperation Organization and the Economic Cooperation Organization.
It was expressed confidence that Pakistan's participation in the 5th Summit of the Cooperation Councils and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, which is being held in Dushanbe this year, co-operated in the framework of this High-Level Session on peace, stability, security and implementation confidence-building measures in the Asia-Pacific region and new ways to strengthen constructive cooperation.
