On June 1, 2019 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Muhiddin met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif and the sides during the meeting "Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran method and framework of bilateral cooperation in the field of security ".
During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of bilateral, political, trade, economic and cultural relations, and discussed the issues of strengthening interparliamentary cooperation, particularly the strengthening of interparliamentary relations between Tajikistan and Iran.
At the meeting it was stressed that in the light of the guidance of the leadership of the two highranking leaders of the two countries, the existing problems will be overwhelmed and the bilateral ties will be expanded.
Historical, cultural and national interests of the two states encourage twoway bilateral relations to be established and maintained at a high level.
Due to the proliferation of terrorism and extremism, the threats and threats of the modern world, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both countries emphasized the importance of collective action against these threats, and decided that in this context, the bilateral and multilateral cooperation would be a viable way.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Methods and Framework for Mutual Cooperation in the Field of Security, which has contributed to the development of security relations between the two countries in this regard was valued.
The Parties shall, in accordance with the Mortgages, be charged with the protection of the security and the fight against crime in preventing authorities, threats against the bases of the constitutional system, fighting terrorism, extremism, and their financing, prevention of illicit trade and explosives, illegal migration, trafficking of people, prevention and fight against crime with information technology, cybercentralism, prevention of tax evasion collaborating, financing terrorism and extremism, do not interfere with the internal affairs of each other.
The Memorandum of Understanding states that the parties "avoid the activities of any party that are recognized as terrorist and extremist organizations, and avoid any form of support and support".
In this context, the sides emphasized that in his territory, he will prevent the activities of members and followers of the terrorist groups and extremist groups.
At the same time, the parties have undertaken to develop partnerships on information sharing on the above mentioned areas, enhancing each other with scientific and educational materials, and taking measures for joint action and preventing illicit education in the territory of the states , provide material and technical assistance, use the experience of each other.
The parties stressed that the sides of both sides will continue to contribute to the benefit of the national anthems of the two countries and will promote greater advancement of friendly relations.
In the Fifth Meeting of the Friends of Asia Cooperation and Confidence in Asia, June 15, 2019 in Dushanbe with participation of heads of the countries of the region, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will take part in the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Ruhani.
In the framework of the Consultative Meeting on Cooperation and Confidence in Asia, the two heads of state will discuss the latest issues of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
