A trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia - Jeyhun Bayramov, Sergey Lavrov and Ararat Mirzoyan was held in Moscow, Trend reports.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that Russia is interested in peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
“We just had separate bilateral talks. Now the three of us will continue our efforts to implement the tasks that follow from the agreements between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia and the prime minister of Armenia in a broader sense regarding the tasks of normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan," Lavrov noted.
"We stand for full respect and implementation of all these trilateral agreements. We'll continue, with the consent of the parties, our efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation,” he also said.
"Today I would like to invite you to exchange views on where the peace treaty talks process is now. We are ready to help in every possible way to balance it," Lavrov added.
Jeyhun Bayramov said that dynamics of the negotiation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia on various directions of the post-conflict Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement is quite high.
"We last met in this format a little over two months ago. Since then, there have been a large number of meetings, contacts at the level of leaders and deputy prime ministers. Foreign ministers met in teams," he reminded.
The Azerbaijani minister emphasized that the results are lagging behind the dynamics of the negotiation process between Baku and Yerevan, however, it would probably be wrong to say that there are no positive results at all.
"Today, it will also be possible to exchange views on the entire range of issues, but traditionally, in this format, we, together with the Armenian delegation, usually focus more on discussing the remaining articles of the peace treaty," Bayramov added.
