The first-ever Music Forum in Azerbaijan, co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture, saw panel sessions with the participation of composers, conductors, musicologists and other figures of culture and art. The first panel session on "Music education in Azerbaijan - composition and performance schools", moderated by Artistic Director of the Cadenza Chamber orchestra, composer Trker Gasimzade, featured discussions on topics such as "Achievements and challenges of the music education system in the country", "Higher music education: facing the demand for new professional orientations and specializations", "Challenges in performing composer music: actual problems and their solutions", "Problems of publishing, recording and broadcasting of composer music in Azerbaijan". The discussions mainly revolved around purchasing composers' works, ordering composer music, publishing works of young composers, the current state of music textbooks, existing problems in music schools, as well as promotion of music on TV channels. The Music Forum, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, will run until 31 October.
