New head coach of national football team shares his first impressions

The newly appointed head coach of the national football team of Kyrgyzstan, Stefan Tarkovic, highly appreciated the young generation of local football players. He announced this at his first press conference in Bishkek.

«I arrived a little earlier to get acquainted with the matches of the local championship and the football infrastructure. It is very important to make an analysis that will help in future work. There are players who play abroad, and we were only able to look at them using statistics. I managed to look at those who play in Kyrgyzstan. It was nice to see Ilbirs football club — this is a great opportunity for young players to show what they are capable of in the Premier League. There are many young players in the republic who have a great future,» Stefan Tarkovic said.

The Kyrgyz Football Union signed a contract with the new head coach of the national team Stefan Tarkovic until June 30, 2024.

The head coach is 50 years old. Previously, he headed the national team of Slovakia. In June 2022, the executive committee of the Slovak Football Association dismissed him from his post. The reason for the dismissal was the unsatisfactory results of the team.

Alexander Krestinin left the post of head coach of the national football team of Kyrgyzstan in early April.
