From January through February, 3,810 cases of infectious diseases were registered in Tajikistan, which is 3.4% less than in the same period last year.

According to the Agency for Statistics, acute viral hepatitis accounts for 21.2% of cases, and acute intestinal infections make up 21.1% of the total number of infectious diseases.

In the first three months of this year, 5,540 cases of parasitic diseases were registered in Tajikistan, which is 19% less than in the first three months of 2021.

Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Jamoliddin Abdullozoda recently noted that according to the estimates of the Ministry, in 2021 the indicator of infectious diseases, with the exception of coronavirus, has significantly decreased compared to 2019. The main reason for the decline in other infectious diseases is the increase in the observance of sanitary rules.

“In 2021, the number of acute diseases of the gastrointestinal tract decreased significantly compared to 2019, as well as compared to 2020. Another disease is the human immunodeficiency virus, which has decreased by 162 cases compared to 2020. Acute respiratory diseases, such as pneumonia, as well as hepatitis A and B, have significantly decreased compared to 2020,” noted Abdullozoda.

According to medical experts, nonobservance of the rules of hygiene can increase other types of infectious diseases. In order to avoid various infectious diseases, a person needs to strengthen his immune system.

The human immune system begins in the womb. After the birth of a child, his immune system is strengthened with the help of breast milk, as well as vaccination.

According to experts, poor environmental conditions, especially starvation, poor diets, lack of micronutrients such as vitamins, can decrease one’s immunity. The human immune system protects the body from all factors that enter the body from the outside, such as microbacteria, all kinds of microbes and viruses, as well as from diseases and poisoning.
