Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the tomb of National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honors. This visit coincides with the upcoming 102nd anniversary of Heydar Aliyev's birth, who is recognized as the architect and founder of the modern and independent Azerbaijani state.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at Heydar Aliyev's tomb, showing respect and paying tribute to the National Leader. First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also participated in the commemoration by paying her respects.
During the visit, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed. Additionally, the President and the First Lady laid flowers at the grave of Heydar Aliyev's wife, Zarifa Aliyeva, who was a renowned ophthalmologist and academician. They further extended their respects to prominent statesman Aziz Aliyev and professor Tamerlan Aliyev.
