Red Crescent Society of Tajikistan Will Provide a Monthly Allowance to 814 Orphans

Tajikistan’s government and the Red Crescent Society of Tajikistan (RCST) intends to provide a monthly allowance to 814 orphans under 16 years of age.

This initiative is being implemented within the framework of the Project to Support Orphans under the auspices of the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates.

According to the cooperation agreement between the RCST and the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates, the orphans will receive 180 dirhams of the United Arab Emirates, taking into account the exchange rate of the national currency on the day of payment (at the rate of the national currency as of December 1, 2021 this amounts to 553,42 somoni).

The allowance will be transferred from Amonatbank to the checking account of the orphans.

In 2020, the RCST provided 642 orphans with a 504 somoni monthly allowance.

Also in 2020, the RCST in cooperation with the King Salman Center for Charitable and Humanitarian Operations of Saudi Arabia provided 500 orphans from 16 cities and districts of the Khatlon region with an allowance of $100 each.

The parties are currently negotiating the implementation of this initiative in 2022.

In total in 2020, 1,142 orphans received an allowance through these mechanisms.

RCST is a national humanitarian organization whose activities are aimed at improving the well-being of those in need.

Currently, the RCST has 69 departments, 1,048 primary organizations, 7,200 members, and 8,000 volunteers.
