Suspects of fraud were detained in Bishkek, who offered Kyrgyzstanis to buy fake cryptocurrency. Press service of the capital’s police reported.
«Employees of K department of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek, while monitoring social media and instant messengers, identified unknown persons who advertised and sold fake cryptocurrency. They assured the victims that the currency would be used to develop projects in the mining industry. A criminal case was opened on the fact of fraud,» the statement says.
It turned out that in January 2022, the fraudsters opened a fictitious office in one of the buildings on Gogol Street, where they accepted money from citizens from $1,000 to 20,000.
«The suspects 38-year-old D.A. and 44-year-old D.G. were detained and placed in a temporary detention center. Their involvement in 18 facts of crimes has been found out,» the Main Internal Affairs Department informed.
