There have been published so many various views in domestic and foreign media in recent days regarding not carrying out the 'Immortal Regiment' action in Dushanbe.
We inform the media, TV, reporters, and newspapers that regarding the holding of Victory Day May 9, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon instructed the responsible persons to hold the event marking Victory Day at a high political level in the Victory Park.
The president of our country has approved the plan of events and scenario for military parade and relevant bodies have begun organizational and cultural works. However, no steps have been taken regarding the Immortal Regiment action and it is an initiative of separate non-governmental associations.
In order to fulfill the instructions of the Head of State, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan, other military structures of the country began preparations on holding rehearsals of Victory Day military parade in Victory Park. The 201st Russian Military Base units will also take part in the parade.
The military parade will be hosted by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and the representatives of the Majlisi Milli and the Majlisi Namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, the diplomatic corps, the Prime Minister of the country, and a number of members of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan will attend it.
In the second part of the event, the oath taking ceremony of 3,000 conscripts will take place. They will lay wreaths at the Military Glory Memorial.
Ministries and the executive body of state authority of the city of Dushanbe are making preparations for holding this event at a high level, and mass festivities and a festive concert with the participation of the capital's youth are planned in the Victory Park.
For the sake of ensuring the safety of the participants of the event dedicated to the Victory Day, the relevant bodies monitor the public order.
Instable situation in Afghanistan's regions bordering Tajikistan does not allow holding additional actions, except those that are planned to be held in Victory Park. In addition, Islamic traditions prohibit going to the streets with portraits of the deceased, and this action contradicts Islamic and madhab values.
To date, there are registered only 449 war veterans in the Republic of Tajikistan, most of whom are disabled and elderly people. Their going out to the streets and meetings with them is impossible.
Therefore, the Head of State ordered the chairmen of the executive bodies of state authority of the regions, cities and districts, as well as the city of Dushanbe to provide financial assistance to war veterans' proceedings from their own resources.
The Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon will provide grants up to 3,000 somoni to war veterans on the occasion of Victory Day.
The grants are being handed over to the veterans by officials of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, senior representatives of ministries and agencies.
