Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan in connection with the border incident on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border

June 14, 2022 in the area of responsibility of the border post "Keh" located in the community Voruhi. Another armed conflict took place in Isfara, the Republic of Tajikistan. In particular, at 06:00 local time, the border checkpoint was suddenly attacked by Kyrgyz servicemen using group weapons and mortars.

As a result of this unjustified act of aggression, the commander of the Keh border checkpoint was injured and taken to a hospital in the village of Vorukh. His health condition is currently critical.

As a result of urgent negotiations initiated by the Tajik side between the border representatives of the parties, a ceasefire was reached at 07:30 local time.

In view of the above, the Tajik side regrets that the provocative actions of Kyrgyzstan against Tajikistan have become regular. These illegal actions only complicate the situation on the border and do not contribute to maintaining an atmosphere of mutual understanding and friendly neighborliness.

Tajikistan condemns the provocative actions of Kyrgyz servicemen and urges Kyrgyzstan to take immediate measures to prevent such conflicts in the future.
