Tajik Athlete Becomes World Champion in a Mixed Martial Arts Tournament

Tajik fighter Asadbek Mannonov became the world champion in mixed martial arts (MMA) among adults and juniors in the +120 kg weight category.

Mannonov defeated Russian Dmitry Babaev In the semi-finals, and beat Ukrainian Mikita Tsibulya in the final.

He showed one of the most spectacular fights and became the first world champion of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) from Tajikistan.

Mannonov noted that for him this is the highest achievement. According to him, other Tajiks who participated in the competition also showed decent results.

“This win is for my country, my family and for me!” the athlete emphasized.

Other Tajik athletes Behruz Khurshedzoda (70 kg), Kosim Sardorov (77 kg) and Jovidon Mahmudov (77 kg) won silver medals.

Bronze medals were awarded to Yokubjon Safarov, Muhammad Salohiddinov and Bakhtiyor Husainov.
