Today, Tajikistan's Composers Union held a musical concert featuring young talents in honor of Music Day.
The aim of the program was to promote professional music and create the conditions for the realization of the creative potential of adolescents and youth.
International Music Day was established at the initiative of UNESCO's International Music Council in 1973 at the 15th General Assembly.
October 1 since 1975 is annually celebrated as International Music Day. Famous composer Dmitry Shostakovich is one of the initiators of this holiday.
Music and music science development has been given more attention in Tajikistan in recent years.
Tajik scholars such as Farabi, Ibni Sino (Avicenna), Abdulmumini Urmavi, Abdulkodiri Guyanda, Abdurahmon Jomi, Zaynulobiddini Husayini, Najmuddin Kavkavii Bukhoroi, Darveshalii Jangi contributed a great deal to the development of musical science of the East.
