Tajik government to pay lump sum benefits to about 475,000 vulnerable persons

The government has compiled an approximate list of vulnerable people in the country.

 

The list that has been approved by the government on December 9 includes 474,992 people and they will receive lump sum benefits in the amount of 600.00 somonis (equivalent to 59.00 U.S. dollars) each.

 

According to the Justice Ministry’s website for legal information, the list group members include about 66,700 people receiving social pensions, almost 106,000 people with disabilities, more than 81,000 orphans and children who have lost their breadwinners, 870 children with disabilities under the age of 16, more than 220,000 poor citizens, and 539 poor refugees.

 

The appendix to the decree states that the number of vulnerable groups of the population is given as of July 1, 2022 and “there may be changes”.

 

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) is instructed to allocate the necessary funds to pay lump sum benefits to the vulnerable groups of the population.

 

Relevant ministries and agencies undertake to make the payment of the allocated funds through Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank) in accordance with established procedures.
