According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon called the meeting a good opportunity to discuss prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries

The parties reportedly expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral cooperation between their countries.

They, in particular, noted that still there is considerable room for expansion of economic cooperation the two countries and pointed to the necessity of intensifying the work of the joint commission for trade and economic cooperation, the Tajik president’s official website says.

When discussing the situation in the region, the head of the Russian Federation called it difficult.

“Of course, we recently talked on the phone about the situation in the region, it remains difficult.I am very interested to know your opinion on what is needed to strengthen our security in this direction,” Putin said.
