Tajik, Turkish presidents agree to resume regular air traffic between their countries

According to the Tajik president’s official website, the presidents exchanged warm congratulations to the fraternal peoples of the two countries on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.


In the course of the conversation, Rahmon and Erdogan reportedly exchanged views on alarming trends regarding the global spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).


Tajik leader expressed condolences to the people of Turkey as well as relatives and friends who has suffered the death of a loved one to Covid-19 and wished a quick recovery to the sick people, the Tajik president’s official website says,


Rahmon also expressed gratitude to Turkey for humanitarian medical aid and assistance in repatriation of Tajik nationals stranded in Turkey due to the coronavirus crisis.


In this connection, both presidents reportedly confirmed their readiness to resume regular air traffic between their countries in the near future.


Rahmon and Erdogan also discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey in the spheres of politics, economics and security.
