On November 11, the Committee for Environmental Protection in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) held a side event on the topic “Implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in Asia: South-South training and the launch of CACCI-Asia” at the Pavilion of Tajikistan in the 27th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Sharm-El-Sheikh.
This side event focuses on the implementation of NDCs, including the topics of South-South learning in Asia through the USAID CACCI approach and the role of regional partnerships in implementing climate action.
The event provided an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss and raise awareness at the regional and sub-regional levels on climate change issues, as well as initiate dialogue with potential donors to further expand NDC implementation initiatives.
The event was attended and addressed by the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under Bahodur Sheralizoda, Global Director of the NDC Partnership Pablo Vieira, Senior Advisor for Climate Change, Bureau for Resilience and Food Security, USAID Ann Vaughan, and the Director of the Bureau for Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture at the Asian Development Bank Yasmine Siddiqui.
