On March 22 in Islamabad, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated and delivered a statement at the 48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
In his speech, the head of the Tajik delegation emphasized the need to strengthen the role of the Organization and intensify the dialogue between its member states in addressing pressing issues of Muslim countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fight against terrorism and the threats and challenges of modern time.
Regarding issues related to Afghanistan and referring to its negative impact on the Central Asian region, he emphasized that, unfortunately, the main condition of the international community for the current Afghan administration — the formation of a comprehensive government with the participation of all ethnic and political groups has not yet been realized.
Following his speech, Muhriddin called on high-ranking representatives of the OIC member states to take an active part in the Second High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028», which will be held on 6-9 June 2022 in Dushanbe.
