Tajikistan Will Receive New Batch of CoronaVac and AstraZeneca Vaccines

This month, Tajikistan will receive 500,000 doses of the Chinese CoronaVac and 302,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, reports the head of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Safety, Emergencies and Emergency Medical Care of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population Navruz Jafarov.

According to him, the documentation is ready and vaccines are expected to be imported soon.

“Currently, the population’s demand for the vaccine is growing. Today, the citizens can be vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine made in Europe, Chinese CoronaVac, American Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech, as well as the Russian Sputnik V,” said Jafarov.

To date Tajikistan has received 4,861,540 doses of vaccines with the support of development partners within the framework of the global mechanism of equitable access to vaccines of the World Health Organization (COVAX) and humanitarian aid from donor countries.
