Tajikistan’s delegation headed by the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development Tojiddin Jurazoda took part in the opening ceremony of the Qatar International Exhibition for Travel and Tourism — Qatar Travel Mart 2021, which took place on November 16 in Doha.
The exhibition was opened by the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani with the participation of the heads of delegations and diplomatic corps accredited in Doha.
Al Thani also visited Tajikistan’s pavilion.
The exhibition is being attended by 150 travel companies from 34 countries and will run until November 18.
The participation of Tajik travel agencies in this exhibition provides an opportunity to find partners, present travel opportunities, establish cooperation with foreign companies, and attract more tourists to Tajikistan.
As part of the exhibition, on November 16, Jurazoda met with the Chief Operating Officer of Qatar National Tourism Council Bertold Trenkel. The meeting focused on issues of expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
The Qatari side expressed readiness to expand cooperation with Tajikistan in the field of tourism, and linked the participation of the Tajik delegation in such an exhibition to the growing interest of Gulf countries in the tourism potential of Tajikistan.
Jurazoda also met with leaders of business circles and investors.
His meeting with the Qatari businessman and founder of the International Islamic Bank Sheikh Ali Abdullah Thani Al Thani focused on the implementation of tourism development projects and establishment of joint ventures.
A decision was made to have Qatari entrepreneurs and investors to visit Tajikistan at the beginning of next year to get acquainted with the country’s tourism infrastructure and investment opportunities in this area.
The meeting between Jurazoda and the Chairman of the Board of Just Real Estate Nasser Hassan Faraj Al Ansari and other representatives of the Qatari business community and investors focused on attracting foreign investments in order to realize Tajikistan’s tourism potential and expand its existing opportunities.
