In order to take urgent measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the Republic of Tajikistan, a temporary procedure for regulating international transportation by truck has been introduced in the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the temporary procedure, the movement of international trucks and their drivers up to the operating border terminals and in the absence of such terminals up to the customs control zone of the state border checkpoints is allowed and customs clearance is carried out in this zone.
In the presence of a detachable trailer and a semi-trailer, the imported goods shall be transported from the border to the place of destination by domestic trailers. After customs clearance of goods, the return of foreign trailers and semi-trailers under customs control shall be carried out up to the customs control zone at border checkpoints or border terminals.
In exceptional cases, in accordance with the preliminary agreement with the Republican Committee on Strengthening Anti-Epidemic Measures, the movement of motor vehicles with special purpose cargoes for strategic facilities and humanitarian assistance is carried out by providing customs escort and quarantine control to destinations.
International transit transportation through the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan under customs escort is carried out with the use of separate vehicles in coordination with officials responsible for monitoring the sanitary and epidemiological situation.
Customs clearance of goods imported to Tajikistan, except for goods transported in trailers and semi-trailers, is carried out at border checkpoints.
This procedure is temporary and will be abolished once the epidemiological situation stabilizes.
