The Plug Garners 13 Nominations At Headies 2023

In a confirmation of its leader­ship position, artists from The Plug, Nigeria’s leading talent management company, domi­nated the Headies Awards list of nominees for 2023.

The company has thirteen of its sought-after artists on the nominations list.

The culture advisory com­pany confirmed this, follow­ing a rollout of nominations by the award organisers for its 16th edition on Wednesday.

Leading the pack from its roster is Afrobeats titan, Da­vido, who bagged five nomi­nations, scoring two each for ‘Stand Strong’ and his feature on ‘Electricity’.

The superstar, who is cur­rently on tour, also earned a nod for his latest album, ‘Timeless’, under the best album category.

Victony who recently re­leased two singles ‘my darling’ and ‘Angelus’ secured four nom­inations with ‘Soweto’, tapped for the ‘Best Recording of the Year’ and ‘Viewers Choice’ categories. He will seek to edge out other stars for the ‘Album of the Year’ and the highly coveted ‘Next Rated awards.

Other nominees managed by The Plug include interna­tionally acclaimed afro-fusion star, Ckay, who features in the ‘Best RandB Single’ for his hit track ‘MMADU’; South Af­rican sensation, Focalistic, who is nominated for ‘Best Southern African Artiste of the Year’, and Alte music trail­blazer, BOJ, who also gained two nominations for ‘Best Alternative Song’ and ‘Best Alternative Album’.
