A virtual trilateral meeting between the Republic of Tajikistan, the United States and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan at the level of foreign ministers was held. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Muhriddin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Muhammad Hanif Atmar and the US Deputy Secretary of State David Hale.
The two sides expressed readiness for partnership and cooperation to promote lasting peace, security and economic development. The issues of cooperation between the three countries in political, security, economic, energy and human resource development were discussed.
It was stressed that the issues of joint fight against terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and strengthening the border are important areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The parties stated that they would continue to work together to address the consequences of COVID-19 integration.
