The organization is considering the possibilities of supporting the republic in the implementation of road projects.

 

UN Resident Coordinator Sezin Sinanoglu at a meeting by videoconference with the Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim said that the UN is currently developing a new Strategy for cooperation with the republic.

 

She noted that the strategy involves assistance in issues related to the development of transport corridors in Central Asia, digitalization of roads.

 

The head of the Ministry of Transport, in turn, noted the readiness to study the proposed Strategy and establish mutually beneficial cooperation with the UN.

 

Tajikistan became an equal member of the UN in early 1992.

 

During this time, the UN provided the republic with more than half a billion dollars in grants. This money is used to develop capacities, structures, aimed at human development, including job creation, access to health care, management development, environmental protection.
