DUSHANBE, 19.01.2017 /NIAT Khovar/. It is expected that in the nearest month the World Bank Board of Directors will approve a new project on financing of reconstruction and rehabilitation of Nurek HPP. It was stated on Wednesday January 18 by the World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller after the meeting with the Founder of Peace and National Unity � Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
According to Cyril Muller, in case of its approval this project will be one of the major projects implemented by the World Bank in the Republic of Tajikistan.
World Bank Vice President also noted that during the meeting it was paid special attention to issues of development of energy, water, infrastructure, creation of new jobs for the young population and improving the living standards of the people of Tajikistan.
The World Bank is interested in expanding its programs in the Republic of Tajikistan. Tajikistan is now being shown good advancement in the field of promoting regional development. I am hoping that the World Bank can support such initiatives on the development of regional cooperation in the future, � Cyril Muller added.
It is expected that the World Bank will continue cooperation for the implementation of its two main goals � poverty reduction and ensuring development with the participation of all countries of the world.
